LinnDrum. Couple of quick loops recorded through some outboard. A sample kit is available for download as usual. I use this machine fairly often, and you can also hear it in on my track, "I Can Make U Dance", located on the right side of this page. Although I've included single-shot hits for you, I gotta say there's nothing quite like recording a full drum pattern straight from the machine into the gear. Sounds much better that way.

But anyway getting back on track, my LinnDrum is a bit wonky at times. Knobs and sliders are scratchy, and sometimes I need to hold certain parts down just to get a sound. The tempo always fluctuates a number or two when I press to read it on the display. I really should grab a MIDI kit for this thing. No matter, maybe I'll get it fixed down the road. I love the punchiness! Enjoy the loops & samples and happy friday!

Those toms sound awesome, like a mix between marching band toms and timpanis.
ReplyDeletethanks man, i recorded them at double speed on linndrum, then slowed the tape down to get more chunky
ReplyDeleteVery cool trick. Thank you!
ReplyDeletethat snare on the first track sounds just like one on this Arthur Russell track.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mate! Great track ;)
ReplyDeletewould be nice if you could make some non-chunkified version too... and what convertors?
